AVCO Systems (United Kingdom)

Major supplier of data-entry call-back systems. This system enables you to receive data from your customers electronically, validate it locally, send a receipt or an error list back to the customer, and deliver validated files to the mainframe. As only the validated data is sent on, it is not possible for defective data or virusses to "step outside" the validating PC, so you get in fact a "free" fire wall.
It should be noted, that the data transmitted is encrypted with triple DES

CBRN programs

Originally a hobby project, it was found that some of the programs I developped for my function as NBC specialist in the danish Territorial Army, could be appreciated by a wider "audience".
The programs have now been released commercially.

CNW recovery

Specializes in data recovery from media which are not "dead", mainly CD, DVD, memory sticks, photocards etc. The company has extensive experience (over 20 years) from data and media conversion.

ComBro (Computer Brothers) (United Kingdom)

The specialists in serial communication (how about 8 COM ports on the same card, or 32 in the same system?) and other funny stuff, like a velocity tester.

Contract Programming

When a customer changes systems or database layout, e.g. in connection with the Y2K problem, we can offer to convert the format of your existing files. It should be kept in mind that, unless you want to have two systems running at the same time, you must also convert your "old" data (up to 5 years of transactions) in order to be able to fulfil demands from the proper authorities. This is often forgotten, which can lead to very big problems. (CV)

eMag (USA / United Kingdom)

eMag was originally Anacomp's Media division.
Seeing their shortcomings in certain data handling needs, they acquired INTERMedia (see below). Having only a limited "visibility" in Europe (and Scandinavia in peticular), eMag and Farum Data ApS found it appropriate to join forces.
We can therefore now offer eMags complete product range, which spans 3 main disciplines:

INTERMedia (United Kingdom)

Develops and markets IMWIN and IMDrive, the leading media conversion software available, enabling you to handle non-DOS media on PC's.
ALL types of SCSI drives and floppy disk drives are supported, from 80K 3" disks, via 8" 1.1 MB, to 3490 libraries.
If you need to handle data from a variety of customers/suppliers, IMWIN or IMDrive will be the the answer. Many popular backup formats, like ArcServe, SYTOS, NT backup, are also supported.

When restoring backups, the library structure is maintained as far as possible.

Peripheral Support Services

Although diamonds live forever, hardware doesn't. The only things worth repairing nowadays (apart from compatibility issues) are reel-to-reel tape drives and 3480-type drives. We have selected Peripheral Support Services, located in Luton (Bedfordshire) as our main "repair shop" for this kind of things.

They also stock used and refurbished drives, and put an honour in supplying reliable hardware, which is underlined by the fact that even on used drives, they give 3 months warranty.

It is not possible to make a list of what they have available, as stock changes frequently.
On the other hand, if you do not need to convert so many tapes that you want to invest in a new drive, you could decide if a used (and reliable) drive would be the proper thing to do.

Qualstar (USA)

In june 2003 all remaining series 3400 drives were sold to Vinastar Corporation.
Informations about series 3400 drives

IBAS, Instrumentbyrået AS, is a Norwegian company specializing in Data Recovery, i.e. recovering the maximum amount of data from (primarily) hard discs, ruined by virus, fire, Coca Cola, or other events rendering them u/s for use in a normal IT environment.

Because of the extreme demands posed on hardware, software, clean rooms and expertise, we have chosen to outsource our Data Recovery jobs to IBAS. In return, they have outsourced Media Conversion, which is a different kettle of fish, to us. It is our belief, that this job specialisation is to the benefit of IBAS' as well as our customers
