Data Recovery
Have you lost your data?
Don't format your harddisc yet, but keep reading!
Even if the drive is not spinning, has a virus, has crashed it heads or thought it could survive a dip in the bathtub or a sip of some good Bourbon, there is still a good chance the data can be recovered.
What is data recovery?
Data recovery is a process of retrieving information (data from damaged media, hard drives, bad floppies, missing files,…) that have become unreadable by standard methods. However, by utilizing specialized software and/or hardware and/or techniques, lost data can very often be recovered fully.
How is information lost?
Data loss can result from many factors: mechanical failure, file structure corruption, vira, sabotage, broken media, fire, acid, water and much more, rendering the data unreadable by standard operating systems.
What are the options?
Most users will just reformat their media, after having said a lot of 4-letter words. Others might purchase an "off the shelf" data recovery software package, which, as it runs as a normal program, very often will ruin the data even more.
If the data is important, then there is only one option and that is to take it to a data recovery professional. Experts who know exactly what needs to be done to recover your lost data.
Four quick easy steps.
Save what is left
Bring your media to us or let us take a look at your system, so we can see if other things need attending (bad cables, bad controller, broken/bent pins,…)
Diagnostic evaluation
The evaluation will enable us (or our partner) to determine if the data is still intact, the condition of the media and the
length of time (= cost) required to recover what is left of the data.
With this information, you can decide whether you want to continue or stop the recovery process.
Data recovery service
Once acceptance to continue is granted, we will begin the recoveryprocess with proprietary techniques and hardware.
Data revcovered
The data can be reinstalled onto any appropriate media.
Depending on the type of error, we use one of the following companies, as their expertise is in different fields.
In extreme cases, we can come and collect your media, drive to Norway (takes only 8-9 hours to IBAS), wait for completion of the job, drive back, and install the new drive, with the (previously) lost data.
It goes without saying, that this will be quite expensive.
